He
Pronounced Rey-key - a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us.
Reiki originates from Japan. Dr Mikao Usui (d.1926) developed this system after many years of study, research and meditation. Once found and developed, he spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Reiki is taught by Reiki Masters who have in turn been taught by a master as is the tradition and therefore have a lineage to Dr Mikao Usui himself.
Reiki is not a religion, nor does it require a belief in any religion therefore it can help any person whatever their belief/religion. The only prerequisite to receive Reiki is the desire to. Any person can be attuned to Reiki by asking a fully qualified Reiki Master to teach them.
To receive Reiki, all you must do is to lie comfortably and empty your mind. Think of blue skies – any thought being recognised simply as a passing cloud – let it pass. No clothing need be removed except shoes. I will place my hands over/on your body covering certain areas/chakras. You may see lights/colours, feel areas of warmth/coolness and you may feel like you are dreaming. You may just relax and fall to sleep – you may have none of these experiences – Reiki will still be given and received regardless. The whole person is treated (holistic therapy) as opposed to any particular area – this could be on an emotional/physical/spiritual level.
The result is a deep, peaceful relaxation during the therapy and a feeling of refreshment and renewed energy afterwards.
The Reiki philosophy is – “Just for today do not anger, just for today do not worry, live your life honestly and be kind to yourself and others”.
The Reiki energy comes through me from the universe, not from myself – it is all the good vibrations channelled from the universe coming through me to you, going to wherever it is needed in the body, balancing and revitalising. When you throw a pebble in a pond, you can see the vibrations/energies. When you walk into a room after an argument, you can feel the vibrations/energies. We are all just energy.
Reiki is safe to use regardless of medication/presenting illness.
I have used Reiki on many cancer patients, working alongside medication thereby enhancing life quality.
I began my Reiki journey in 2007, qualifying as a Master/Teacher in 2013 and have many amazing stories/experiences, I can talk about Reiki all day long so be forewarned!
